"Finally Falling" is a song performed by American actress and singer Victoria Justice, written by Dan Schneider, Drake Bell, and its producers Michael Corcoran and CJ Abraham, for the Nickelodeon television series Victorious. It was originally released on the series' website TheSlap on May 9, 2010, and later included as the 11th track on the soundtrack album, Victorious: Music from the Hit TV Show.[1]

Release[]

After it appeared in Victorious, "Finally Falling" was released on the series' official website TheSlap on May 9, 2010.[1] The track was also available to listen to on the website of Dan Schneider's other Nickelodeon television series, iCarly.[2] However, the song wasn't released on any official music platform at the time. Columbia Records and Nickelodeon later confirmed it would be the 11th track on the soundtrack album, released under the title Victorious: Music from the Hit TV Show on August 2, 2011.[3]

In the music video, Victoria Justice said the song is about "falling for someone who is a little bit in the wrong side of the tracks and then there is someone else that your friends want you to like, the kind of has it all going on".

Megan Gaertner of Her Campus ranked "Finally Falling" as her eighth favorite song from Victorious, claiming while she may have found it boring as a child, she now finds it "sweet and romantic", and believes what makes this song special is that there are no others like it on the soundtrack.[4]

They perform this song in the play Uptown, Downtown in which Beck's and Robbie's characters fall in love with Tori's character.

Lyrics[]

[Intro]
Suddenly, my choice is clear
I knew when only you and I were standin' here

[Verse 1]
Well, that money isn't worth a thing
If you didn't earn it
You don't deserve it
True love doesn't cost a thing
And if you try to buy it
You can't return it (no, no, no, oh)

[Pre-chorus]
Your friends are doin' all the same things
And my friends say, "Look at what you're wastin'"
Well, it doesn't matter if we change their minds

[Chorus]
Suddenly, I can see what I didn't before
And I don't care what they say anymore
'Cause I'm fallin', fallin'
Finally fallin', fallin'

[Verse 2]
I don't need all the finer things
Diamond rings are nothin'
So show me somethin'
'Cause love is all I need
All I ever wanted
And now I've got it (yeah-eh-eh-eh)

[Pre-chorus]
And my friends all wonder what you're thinkin'
And your friends, they probably think the same thing
Well, it doesn't matter if we change their minds

[Chorus]
Suddenly, I can see what I didn't before
And I don't care what they say anymore
'Cause I'm fallin', fallin' (just fallin', fallin')
Finally fallin', fallin'

[Bridge]
If you can't find love when you're in it
Just forget it
It will change your mind once you get it
Don't you get it?
'Cause we did it (we did it, we did it)
Yeah, we did it (we did it, we did it)
Well, we did it (we did it, did it, did it, did it, did it)

[Chorus]
Suddenly, I can see what I didn't before
And I don't care what they say anymore
'Cause I'm fallin', fallin' (just fallin', fallin')
Finally fallin', fallin'
Suddenly, I can see what I didn't before
And I don't care what they say anymore
'Cause I'm fallin', fallin' (just fallin', fallin')
Finally fallin', fallin' (just fallin', fallin')
Finally fallin', fallin' (just fallin', fallin')
Finally fallin', fallin'
