"Favorite Food" (also known as "Favorite Foods") is a song written by Josh Schwartz, Brian Kierulf, and Leon Thomas III, and produced by Michael Corcoran, for the Nickelodeon television series Victorious. It was released on the series' website TheSlap on January 18, 2011.[1]
Background and release[]
After it appeared in Victorious, "Favorite Food" was released on the series' official website TheSlap on January 18, 2011, along with "Song 2 You". Despite this, the song wasn't included on any soundtrack album or extended play for unknown reasons. According to the closing credits of the episode in which "Favorite Food" was used, the song was written by Josh Schwartz, Brian Kierulf (whose last name was misspelled as "Keirulf"), and Leon Thomas III, and produced by Michael Corcoran (also known as "Backhouse Mike"). This causes the song and "Song 2 You" to share identical credits, which would make sense considering how they're related in the series, although when "Song 2 You" was later released as part of an album, the track's official credits were different than when they were initially given in the episode credits. Also due to the song's non-traditional release via TheSlap, the artist credit is given as "The Diddly Bops", a fictional group created by the series' characters, as opposed to how songs are normally credited as performed by the "Victorious cast" when they're on official music platforms or as part of an album.
In the series[]

"Favorite Food" was performed by Tori Vega (portrayed by Victoria Justice), André Harris (portrayed by Leon Thomas III), Robbie Shapiro (portrayed by Matt Bennett), Jade West (portrayed by Elizabeth Gillies), Beck Oliver (portrayed by Avan Jogia), Cat Valentine (portrayed by Ariana Grande), Sinjin Van Cleef (portrayed by Michael Eric Reid), Erwin Sikowitz (portrayed by Eric Lange), and Trina Vega (portrayed by Daniella Monet) in the episode "The Diddly-Bops" (the same episode "You're the Reason" and "Song 2 You" were performed), that premiered on January 17, 2011. Tori, André, Robbie, Jade, Cat, and Beck agree to perform at a party for four-year-olds for $1,000. Although they have trouble coming up with a song at first, they want to make a song about food because that's the theme of the most popular children's songs. At the party, they go on stage as the Diddly Bops, dressed as food and sing "Favorite Food". Without realizing it, they're recorded by one of the children. They find out later their performance went viral, causing a negative effect on André's potential music career. Cat books another performance at the mall because she thought her friends liked performing as the Diddly Bops, but they disagree. She eventually performs with Trina, Sinjin, and Sikowitz, but they're attacked by the children, who point out they aren't the same people who originally performed the song.

Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
What I like about cheese
Is that you can put it on veggies
And it tastes
Mmm, mmm, so good (yeah)
[Pre-chorus]
I like to talk about food
'Cause it's my favorite thing to do
Every treat from yellow to blue
Red and green so lets all sing
[Chorus]
Tell me all about
Your favorite foods
Mine is pizza
And I like hamburgers too
I'll eat ice cream cake
Till my tummy aches
Then here's what I'll do
Here's what I'll do
Share some of mine with you
[Post-chorus]
Yummy, yummy (ooh)
In my tummy (ooh)
Yummy, yummy (all my favorite foods)
Yummy, yummy (ooh)
In my tummy (ooh)
Yummy, yummy
[Verse 2]
I like noodles in a bowl
Chicken nuggets make me lose control
'Cause they taste
Mmm, mmm, so good (yeah)
[Chorus]
Tell me all about
Your favorite foods
Mine is pizza
And I like hamburgers too
I'll eat ice cream cake
Till my tummy aches
Then here's what I'll do
Here's what I'll do
Share some of mine with you
